More rain....more training....repeat!

Rainy again! I'm ok with the rain....let's GO!
Through all weather conditions, our friends are out practicing for a variety of competitions. Sammie and her mom, with Sue, working through the Figure 8.
Sammie (a little blurry) finishing her dumbell retrieve. Getting better and better Sammie!
Shanti below. "Ready?" Great watching for the next move.
We also made a training trip earlier this week to the fantastic Oakland Dog Training Club. As we are quite new at this, mom and I are working on some basics....our other pals have pretty high level competitions coming up... We are really proud of them!
Bonnie B. below...amazing competitor! Just look at her ears! "Bonnie B. are you ready?"
Sammie waiting for the 'go' signal....behind her, Moriz (on right, in a 5mn 'down') and me, observing.
Moriz....great work on the 5mn down... His mom is out of sight and he is very patient!
I was working on my 'Down' of sorts too. Snoozle position.
Next I needed to do some paw warmups.... Moriz wasn't really into it.
Mom and I receiving instructions.... Below, just practicing nice walking, me not scrambling ahead to check things out.. We're strollin'.
Back inside....more tips, suggestions....all good! I was just wondering if mom had more cookies...
"Let's go!" Doing good now!
We'll keep working on all of this! We quite enjoy learning obedience, and creating a bigger bond, mom and I. We'll be looking in to some Good Citizen certificates, and perhaps fun matches!
Have a nice weekend friends!! We've got the rain again for today...

Images from my week....

Yes...more time in this stuff...still lovin' it! Get that ball! .....But, that's not all that's been going on....
Back at home..... Some time ago we posted a photo of this family spot, where many special gatherings have taken place....family weddings, parties and many holidays. Well....
We're having our own 'Season of the Bobcat' of a different sorts....
The main house is going to become a new straw bale structure. The existing house was beautiful, but not in good condition at all.... So, demo has begun! A slow process, as windows and panels are being recycled and some will be used in the new structure. Quite exciting, but not a great place to be out and about running around... The crane taking out the bigger beams this past Friday....
Amazingly, it was just overcast, and not our usual downpour, as it has been for a few weeks now.
The lovely Inverness valley behind, makes for quite a backdrop to the construction crew (led by mom's brother, lead-contractor on this project).
Below was all that remained after the crane left. And, not long after, this section came down. Just memories of some really good times in the old house.
Quite a project starting here. It will be exciting to see things progress into a more energy efficient liveable structure...
So, we also made our weekend trip to the snow....ahhhhh, the SNOW! What's better than mom's glove!? I don't think she needs it. She's pretty tough.
Mom and I....reflection in the window on our morning walkie around the area.
We stopped by to check on Dad (left) with his 'jacket buddy' Frank on the right. Dad found a great deal on this jacket, but wasn't sure on the size, so ordered TWO!! He kept one and found that Frank fit the other and was in the market for a new jacket as well. How to tell the difference? :)
Below....back in The Cirque. This was the last weekend of the Master's Competition at Kirkwood.
Good grief! How do they pick a route!?
I am always up for helping with the post ski snacking....and someone tends to leave crumbs... Better than the Wubba sometimes! Nomnomnomnom... Wubba looks kind of lonely back there...
I ended up going back to my red squeeky ball... Ah! See you again soon!!

Just more snow pix....

Well....as it has been raining lots and lots here...and we have been doing mostly the same parkie or muddy backyard stuff....but someone always has that camera out when we are in the mountains.... Here are more winter pix. ...Enjoy. Snow bib?
Sometimes we drive up Highway 50, Echo Summit area...this is looking at Lover's Leap, a popular climbing spot.
Winding down Highway 50 towards South Lake Tahoe.
Now on Luther Pass, Highway 89.
Passing through Hope Valley towards Carson Pass, Highway 88/89 junction, in route to Kirkwood. This is definitely the LONG WAY!
And, we made it! Time to play in the SNOW!
Or, see where I can dig to!
Camping lot...not too pretty, but convenient and often folks bring barbecues, put up pop-up tents, sometimes watch outdoor movies...or just stay cozy inside.
Morning views out in the meadow.
Looking towards the front side ski runs. Masters Competition staging area. These folks are amazing to watch coming down the mountain....
In the photo below...this is what competitors are navigating! It's called The Cirque, and is off-limits to the general public, but gets opened for some of the more professional comps. Anyway, not for me, thank you.
I'll just stick to my snow play! With my snow bib, and snow on my tongue...
Snooter in the snow.
Have a nice week my friends. We'll be dropping by to say hello!!
