Eatin' somethin'...nibble nibble
So, this shot below is last night....many folks out in the meadow...including mom and dad and ME! And, you'll see why in a moment...it wasn't all fun and games this time...
Always gettin' a snow-bath from dad!
Here's the wierd part...the power house at Kirkwood caught on fire mid-day New Year's Day. Lifts shut down early, as there was no power and smoke smoke smoke filled the valley sky.
This is the power source for the entire area. It was a very bad fire. We stayed put, as the temperatures were lowering and the roads were very icy to drive anywhere. And, I was happy with my ball time.....
Shots from this morning. Still NO POWER to the area and a lot of generators being trucked in. I was happy to have more mom and dad and ball time...!!!
We're pretty self-contained with our rig. Here is dad a few friends hashing over the gravity of the situation this morning.
With no lifts running, and just a long line for a snow-cat ride up some of the slopes, mom, dad and I decided to do a sunny x-country ski around the meadow. We encountered lots of friendly folks and some cool looking snow pals!
Yea...found a stick too! All is ok. Power is slowly being restored to the village and area. We're happy to hang, and see what tomorrow brings.
Hugs to all my pals!!
BowWowzer looks like lots of excitement there. Sorry to hear about that fire. Hope noone was hurt. Your new ball is very pretty. LOVE the color. So easy to spot!! Happy New Year, pal!!

Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteDo you have to be on a string when you go out skiing with your mom and dad?
Cool stick! We have some by the fireplace in the family room but momma says we have to leave those alone and just nibble on the ones that are outside - shucks! We are to happy that the fire didn't hurt anyone and SO HAPPY THAT THE YOUNG DOG WAS FOUND. Our momma can go to sleep tonight smiling☺
ReplyDeleteLove you, kiddo
So much excitement in this post!
ReplyDeleteWe really like your snow bath picture!

I'm so happy that the lost dog was found. He was smart to build a snow cave!
ReplyDeleteAs a PUPPY, do you bit ski tips or ski poles during cross country skiing? All of our puppies (6 total by now) have had this habit. Only one, our spirited R, has retained into adulthood. The problem is that now he can grab a ski tip and point it whereever he wants. Don't do that to you humans, OK?
Glad that you're 'self-contained'. We have a camper van, and I love that 'self-contained' feeling!
Hi Sierra Rose, what great snow pics but our human was worried about no power!
ReplyDeleteWe can't think why after all you have everything you need right there and anydog can see you are having loads of fun.
We loved those snowmen - for some reason we haven't seen one snowman this year although we have lots of snow.
Stay safe and warm.
love

What wonderful pictures. I wish we could bring Sam up to play with you! We are so glad the little lost dog was found, Momma feels better knowing it. You all have fun up there, and thank you for keeping up on the posts and sharing with us!

That's such great news to hear that the dog was found safe and sound - he must have been scared out there all alone. And now this fire - you are having quite the adventure there. Stay safe and enjoy the snow.
