Love my tunnel...so snaggleable!
Late in the day when the hot temps were on their way down...to less than super scortching, we made a dash back to the Youth In Arts Italian Street Painting Festival.
Being post-scheduled festival times....I was able to join mom and dad and take a lap through to view the amazing works!
Bella Terra / Beautiful Earth was the theme this year at the 17th annual festival.
Squares were bought and artists were chosen or volunteered, all proceeds going towards the Youth In Art non-profit in our county. I was polite and walked nicely with dad..... I did snaggle a few chalk samples...not sure what I think of that...can't say chalk is very tasty...but it was everywhere!
The painting below was a very special one, as it was in memory of a 14-yo golden who had passed over the Rainbow Bridge quite recently.
Even met a few new friends :)
Young new pals too!
Lots of space for younger artists.
Avatar!
Back to this sweet painting and memory.
A few more artists busy finishing...it was about 8pm by this time.
Each piece was beautiful! What a transformation of colors and images.
As the light lowered, we made our way home. Thinking about the artists still finishing up... What an event!
Many photographs and many memories will hold these images, as sadly the streets are reversed back to just streets soon....
And, onward we go. Have a nice week pals!
What amazing paintings.
ReplyDeleteHey! It looks like you have a whole water fun park at your place. Good thing when it's hot.

ReplyDeleteOh, wow, we should have gone! The art looks really beautiful. It's remarkable what they can do with chalk. Glad Sierra got to enjoy it for a little while, too. It seems like she's matured a lot in the last couple months!

I'm surprised that it's hot there now. I remember it being foggy most of the time at this time of year...
ReplyDeleteAmazing drawings. I love the golden and the memories associated with him. I also loved the bear - of course! I love bears in general.
Too bad that the street can't be reserved for a little while so that people can keep enjoying those beautiful drawings!
Glad that you made some friends, Sierra!
What a lot of fantastic images! I love the Golden and Avatar pictures the best, as I'm a fan of both of them :)

PS We are still waiting for it to get warm enough to get our pool set up.
My favorite was the one of the girl with the basket of flowers and the red scarf. What happens to those beauties when it rains? It all goes away? Oh my!!
