Oh that cracklin' THUNDER!

We have been having some wild weather! These two shots are from some time ago, as we have not seen the sun lately....many days of fog and now a set of storms. Hope the bright yellow warm sun comes back for a visit soon! This morning has been loud kabooming cracklin' THUNDER. I am going to go back in my cozy crate house and watch more 'Rachel Ray' as soon as I finish this post.
Yesterday was a crazy storm day, as dad was driving home from the mountains...took him double the time, and cars off the road all over the place....mom had to work in SF in the eve, and kept hearing of the 45mph gusts on the GG Bridge.... And, I....well...all this is quite scary to me! The wind, the hard rain, the cracklin'... It is to go on all week.
Mom and I now have our indoor stair routine...me with the ball, and her..just doing some laps with me!
Come on! What ya got? Ball?
Let's go! HIDE! I'll find you...bring those little hot dog snacks with ya, and I'll find you FASTER!
Notice my ears back...I get pretty spooked from the storm.... I'll head back into my little safety place now...mom's gotta do some work anyway.... I think 'The Price is Right' is on with that Drew Carey...
Stay warm and cozy pals, wherever you are! AND...if you see that sun, please jet-stream it back our way, ok!?

  5. OH Sierra...

We don't like this weather either... thankfully the kiddlets are attached to their leashes when we go outside or they might blow away!

  7. We are sure that you do miss the sunshine. We thought it was always sunny in CA..
The Red's do have an advantage, being deaf the thunder doesn't scare them. I, Gus does't mind either...

  10. I'm always amazed at how different dogs react to thunder. Jack seems to ignore it, although it doesn't rain here enough for him to figure out what it is! :)

  11. Oh Dear Pal Pup, I know how scary thumper boomers are - try to think of them as intruders and bark your little heart out at them - they'll go away for a bit. What a brave girl you are... these storms will go away soon and snow country beckons once more - yay!!! I'll keep ya company whenever you want, if you keep me in mind too - fun to see you today, but the rain and boomers are certainly a deterrent to our regularly featured programming, yeah? Missing you now bigtime - see ya tomorrow?
    Big Hugs and Love xo

  12. Oh sweet Sierra, we are so sorry you have these storms - we haven't seen sun for a long time either but we just have rain now. Maybe you need to get one of those thunder jackets that Joe Stains has - they seem to help him out a lot. We hope the weather improves soon, our human brother is down in the LA area and is not liking it much either. Go get some hugs from Mom and we hope tomorrow is better.

  14. Thunder is loud but it won't hurt you sweetie! Just stay close to your Mom and she will protect you. We had a bad wind storm last night and it even scared the Duchess!

  17. Oh Sierra Rose, that thunder sounds scary - we don't like noises like that either.
Looks like your mom is doing a good job to distract you.
Playing is a good way to take your mind off things.
We like music too - Martha particularly likes music - we turn it up loud.
Stay safe and warm. We will organise some sunshine to come over from Scotland but will try not to let the ice come too!
    love and kisses

  19. Sierra,

Those first two photos of you are amazing. Your fur glows in the sun so beautifully.

We have plain gray skies here but no storms. I'll try sending some of our calmer weather your way...

I'm glad that you made the drive safely. I remember many white-knuckle drives from the mountains to the Bay area. No fun at all!

  20. Storms are no fun!! You are one of the most photogenic dogs ever. Did you know that I love your smile and that "play with me look" that you have. Stay in the kennel - the storms will go away soon and then there will be mud to play in!!!

  21. Sierra, sorry for all that storm and thunder. It's really scary. We hope that you will get some sun soon.

  22. We guess your high winds might be a scary thing. The news just said that California's High Sierras are to get 10 feet of snow! We are getting snow in the AZ high country too.

Like you, BabyRD is afraid of just about any loud sound. She's a real sissy! BOL.

  23. It's all yucky and rainy again down here today too.

4 wet dogs in the house = no fun.

I hope it drys up there for you soon!

  24. It looks like you have a good routine for the stormy weather, but we know about those boomies - and we don't really like them either.

  25. Once, while living in Arkansas, we had to escape a tornado by sitting in the bathtub. After that, anytime it rained hard or thundered my Dalmatian would run and hide in the tub! Just know we humans hate it when you're scared. We wish we could ease your fears. Take care.

  26. Aw, you're a very brave little girl, those storms can be really scary things. Even some of the more senior ladies in our house get a little spooked sometimes.

  28. Hi Sierra!

We are getting a big ice and snowstorm this weekend, and we have been out of sun for several days. My Mom says we just have to grin and bear it but I hope there are no bears.
    Take care!

    Kisses,
    Stella

  29. I hate thunder storms too, Sierra Rose! Watching TV sounds like a good plan to me! Make sure the volume it turned up so it drowns out the yucky noises!

    Love ya lots,

  31. We could use a little sun here too! I love the pictures. I'm sure Momma would let you snuggle under a blanket with her to hide from the storm. That is what Sam does when it gets really bad.

  32. We are not seeing sun at the moment either, but it is actually mostly calm other than that. Some rain, a little sleet and stuff, but no strong winds and no piles of snow (to our disappointment).
