A visit back to the mountains last weekend.... Still finding the bestest stickies! Spring teased us with sun, storms, winds and fresh snow!
The storm that blew in Saturday, provided almost 8 inches of snow!
The storm that blew in Saturday, provided almost 8 inches of snow!
Making for a fun long walk with my humans Saturday evening.
Little creeks breaking through the meadow snow cover.
Before the storm , we could see the craggy caves of Red Cliffs.
And, Sunday the storm closed in on the upper mountain.
Sun breaks...
Calming weather predicted, we decided to head north on Hwy 88, making the turn towards South Lake Tahoe. With sun the day after, we hiked around near the Emerald Bay area.
WOW what a beautiful sight! I would SO love to be up there right now. It's too hot in Malaysia.
ReplyDeleteYour snow looks wonderful to us, Sierra Rose! It's been too hot at our house the last few days! Your pictures are just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots

Fantastic vistas! Lake Tahoe is such a beautiful resort area. Mom remembers having so much fun there! I've never been yet. Maybe some day but Mom better buy me a big thick jacket first! Or maybe I can borrow your second layer of hair Sierra Rose? ;) Great outing! :D
ReplyDeleteWaggin at ya,
Roo
No kidding!!! Snow again?
ReplyDeleteBut the view is so beautiful, so glad that you've found your perfect stick too.
Hey there Sierra!! We've been trying to get by to say hi to everyone, since we've gotten back!
ReplyDeleteHow strange to see a snow post in June!!
Woofs and Kisses!
The Fiesty Three
That picture of lake Tahoe island is so good I'd frame it! I love to see Siara's fuzzy ears. Milk that coolness as long as you can!
ReplyDeleteSnow?! That seems crazy ;-) I am so happy to kiss the winter goodbye!
ReplyDeleteWOW... that is beautiful!!!! It's 99 here in Mississippi today. Hard to believe that it's still snowing in other parts of the country!
ReplyDeleteAROOOOF!
Boondocks
Looking at these photos seems impossibly surreal, but then again, the weather here has been so unseasonable cold and windy and RAINY argghhhhh! Maybe... would rather be in the snow than the wet and dismal! So great to hang with you both this am - moremoremore!!!
ReplyDeleteHuge Hugs and thanks for posting these pics - incredible!
xoxoxoxo
Sammie, Avalon and Ozzie

I can smell the mountain freshness ...inhale...exhale...aaahhh! Now back to warmth I hope!
ReplyDeleteWith the heat and humidity we have here now, that snow looks sooooooo good - wish we were there. Enjoy it while you can, Sierra Rose.
ReplyDeleteWoos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
Brrrr!!! If you don't mind me asking, where are you at? We are almost at 100 degree days here.
ReplyDeleteSam
I always say this, but I really mean it, I love your pictures!! You have the most beautiful places to explore, and with the heat we've had this week, the snow would be welcomed and wonderful fun for our very hot-dogs!! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Sierra,
ReplyDeleteYou had a wonderful day. I am jelouse (if dogs get jelouse) cause you are up inthe mountains and we still only get to look at them.
Maybe My Vickie will get me up there next week. I sure hope so. Then I can enjoy a day like you had.
Bert
You bring back memories. We had a year-long rental of a cabin in Meeks Bay (close to Emerald Bay) during our last year in CA. I absolutely adored it in the winter and other off-season times. This time of year was, as you know, variable! Sunny and warm one day, and snowy the next!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos!
Hey there! Finally think I can make a comment without crashing! LOVE these pics, although the thought of powder up there is a lot surreal!!! Looks like frigid January rather than June! Also love the pix of, in and around Lake Tahoe - neat to see it all without crowds! Hope you get a chance to hike to Eagle Lake, but have another better idea. Get thyselves up to Echo Lake, take the ferry across and hike a fairly flat trail to Aloha Lake or any others that are clustered around there. It is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBig Hugs from us all xoxoxo
Sammie, Avalon and Oz and Mom
Always love to see you on your walks baby. Amie wouldn't have liked snow.
ReplyDeletelots of love Soggibottom Cottage X X X

Ohhh, I'm so sorry you are getting snow...we have high 90's here in NC and have had for a good three weeks! But I have to be honest, Hurraicne would rather have the snow...he's not a hot weather fan at ALL!
ReplyDeleteSierra, you are too cute!
Snow!!?? We're at 99 degrees here...
ReplyDeleteGoing to stick my head in the freezer until November. Your pics are simply breathtaking!!
Oh thank you for this refreshing post!
