Finding my spring snows...

A visit back to the mountains last weekend.... Still finding the bestest stickies! Spring teased us with sun, storms, winds and fresh snow!
The storm that blew in Saturday, provided almost 8 inches of snow!

Making for a fun long walk with my humans Saturday evening.

Little creeks breaking through the meadow snow cover.
Before the storm , we could see the craggy caves of Red Cliffs.
And, Sunday the storm closed in on the upper mountain.

Sun breaks...
Calming weather predicted, we decided to head north on Hwy 88, making the turn towards South Lake Tahoe. With sun the day after, we hiked around near the Emerald Bay area.

Amazing vistas. Fannette Island, the only island in Lake Tahoe.

Constant changing clouds over craggy peaks.

Still a chilly day, but I had my double furs on :)

Looking towards the Camp Richardson area, and Heavenly ski trails.

Certainly nice to be in the mountain air again.

Hope you had a nice weekend!
See you again soon pals.

  14. I always say this, but I really mean it, I love your pictures!! You have the most beautiful places to explore, and with the heat we've had this week, the snow would be welcomed and wonderful fun for our very hot-dogs!! :-)

  15. Hi Sierra,

You had a wonderful day. I am jelouse (if dogs get jelouse) cause you are up inthe mountains and we still only get to look at them.

Maybe My Vickie will get me up there next week. I sure hope so. Then I can enjoy a day like you had.

  16. You bring back memories. We had a year-long rental of a cabin in Meeks Bay (close to Emerald Bay) during our last year in CA. I absolutely adored it in the winter and other off-season times. This time of year was, as you know, variable! Sunny and warm one day, and snowy the next!

    Love the photos!

  17. Hey there! Finally think I can make a comment without crashing! LOVE these pics, although the thought of powder up there is a lot surreal!!! Looks like frigid January rather than June! Also love the pix of, in and around Lake Tahoe - neat to see it all without crowds! Hope you get a chance to hike to Eagle Lake, but have another better idea. Get thyselves up to Echo Lake, take the ferry across and hike a fairly flat trail to Aloha Lake or any others that are clustered around there. It is gorgeous!
Big Hugs from us all xoxoxo
