Ice balls and jumpy twirlies!
I guess mom doesn't trust me quite yet off leash...as I like to RUN, ZOOM and check out EVERYTHING... We're still working on the recalls... So, for today, I was on a long line, but with LOTS of room to run and play!
In the meadow at the base of Kirkwood ski resort. A lovely morning.
Can you tell what I loved doing most of in this chilly white stuff!?!?!?
Lots of wide cross-country trails in the meadow. Looking towards Carson Pass.
Sticks and stuff!
Practicing 'watching'!
Oh yea...I'm goin' for it!
Pine cones!
I'll have some snow-ice right here, thank you.
Looking East towards the Bear Valley area.
Spent a while watching those funny hoomans go zoomie down the hill...quite mysterious..on some sort of woodish looking things...looked very snaggable. Mmmmmm! We had a nice day...and then headed home for some holiday family obligations...but hoping mom and dad will bring me to the snow lots of times!
There's nothing more wonderful than a puppy in the snow for the first time. It looked like Sierra Rose LOVED it!! We joke that our dogs call our skis "funny boards". And, yes, they're very snaggable. Our 2 year old Lab, R, still bites our ski tips when we're ski touring. He reserves this adorable behavior for whenever someone looks off-balance and ready to fall!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Sierra mountains are amazing, aren't they? We spent about a million weekends out there, loving every minute (except the drive)!
Wow, it looks beautiful! I hope we'll make it up to the snow this winter. Cabana had a lot of fun in it last year. Snow is very fun--but also exhausting, for dogs AND humans!
ReplyDeleteWhooooooo! Can't wait to share snowtime with you my pal!!! You just look so HAPPY in that cold floofy stuff, snaggling everything you can find! I'd love to build snow tunnels with you canIcanIcanI????? That first photo is classic! Beautiful you! And the others are pawesome as well - love the ones with your snow snooter!
ReplyDeleteBig Hugs and Kisses,
Sammie

Sierra - it looks like great minds think alike! I had a snow day too! But it looks like you have much more of the fluffy white stuff than I do. Wish you were here so we could've built a snowman!
ReplyDeleteLove ya,

Sierra, Scout 'n Freyja wish they could have been there with you to show you some of the finer points of REALLY getting into snow fun! We are so happy you had such a nice time with your momma.
ReplyDeleteI guess you sporty dogs are all about the snow, huh. You seem to be feeling most joyful in the white stuff. I will stay in the dog cave until spring, thank you very much.

It is so much fun to watch you enjoying that snow - any chance you can blow a bit of it to the east so we can get some. We figure if you work at it from California and we get our East coast furiends to work on their end eventually it will reach us here.

Hi Sierra Rose,
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous Golden you are!
Isn't snow fun?!
Our Raider is phobic of water, an embarrassment to his breed! But when he first saw snow May 2008 in West Yellowstone we couldn't keep him out of the stuff!!
He is quite the RV Traveling dog. Of course, he has the whole back seat of the crew cab in our Chevy Dually, with lots of bedding and a ramp to walk up or down out of his "throne"! HA!
I have to bookmark your blog, it looks so pretty with the snow and wonderful header!
I wish I had puppy pictures of Raider! He was quite red when we adopted him from Norcal Golden Retriever Rescue back in 2004 at 19 months, but no "baby pics" came with him.
Here's to Happy Holidays for you and your family!
