Images from my week....

Yes...more time in this stuff...still lovin' it! Get that ball! .....But, that's not all that's been going on....
Back at home..... Some time ago we posted a photo of this family spot, where many special gatherings have taken place....family weddings, parties and many holidays. Well....
We're having our own 'Season of the Bobcat' of a different sorts....
The main house is going to become a new straw bale structure. The existing house was beautiful, but not in good condition at all.... So, demo has begun! A slow process, as windows and panels are being recycled and some will be used in the new structure. Quite exciting, but not a great place to be out and about running around... The crane taking out the bigger beams this past Friday....
Amazingly, it was just overcast, and not our usual downpour, as it has been for a few weeks now.
The lovely Inverness valley behind, makes for quite a backdrop to the construction crew (led by mom's brother, lead-contractor on this project).
Below was all that remained after the crane left. And, not long after, this section came down. Just memories of some really good times in the old house.
Quite a project starting here. It will be exciting to see things progress into a more energy efficient liveable structure...
So, we also made our weekend trip to the snow....ahhhhh, the SNOW! What's better than mom's glove!? I don't think she needs it. She's pretty tough.
Mom and I....reflection in the window on our morning walkie around the area.
We stopped by to check on Dad (left) with his 'jacket buddy' Frank on the right. Dad found a great deal on this jacket, but wasn't sure on the size, so ordered TWO!! He kept one and found that Frank fit the other and was in the market for a new jacket as well. How to tell the difference? :)
Below....back in The Cirque. This was the last weekend of the Master's Competition at Kirkwood.
Good grief! How do they pick a route!?
I am always up for helping with the post ski snacking....and someone tends to leave crumbs... Better than the Wubba sometimes! Nomnomnomnom... Wubba looks kind of lonely back there...
I ended up going back to my red squeeky ball... Ah! See you again soon!!

  1. Oh my goodness! So much happening in a week's time at your home! Taking apart and rebuilding a new home sounds so exciting!! And then you have more fun in the snow time! Envy, envy, envy!!
We're now in the hill country of Texas, in Fredericksburg. It's been rather soggy, though not cold! Today we had sunshine break through the clouds! Yay! Then there's this "humidity" thing going on! What's up with that?!
    Belly rubs to you!

  3. Your play on "Bobcat" was furry clever - furry, furry clever! Wow - that is some kind of progress! I didn't KNOW it was going to be a straw bale situation! In the early '90s, near Taos, NM, my mom introduced me to someone waay up on a mountain who was building a straw bale home - I'd never seen it before - it came out GREAT! And super energy efficient for both summer and winter! Wow - very cool! Speaking of which, I just love your pix and 'splainin' about some things I didn't know about! You have such a great time up there, Sierra! So jealous! Love that photo of you trying to gnaw a tiny bit of branch off its mother tree hehee! You are so cute, little one!

  11. Love the bobcat reference! A straw bale house - now that will be very warm from what I understand. I'll be interested to hear as it progresses.

It must be spring snow - corn snow - in the Sierra by now. Enjoy! We called it "Hero's snow" because we looked like such good skiers in it!

  13. Wow, you have lots going on at your house. Where are you living in between? I like the idea of reusing windows.
Very clever reflection picture. Please tell me that you don't ski down those dangerous places. Stay on the safe trails!!!

I love seeing the snow. Ours is long gone...... it's been in the 50s and more..... sigh. Hopefully one of those wild Spring storms will rip across the prairie and bring us another blizzard soon. Ha roo!

  26. Hey SR,
Boy are things busy, busy, busy at your place. We still have just a little bit of our snow left but it should be all gone if temperatures stay in the 60s like they have been. You be careful and try to stay out of the way, at least a little bit.

  31. WOWZA! That is a LOT of snow! Ours is finally melting and we're happy to see it go!

Momma wants to know if you need help - or would like to change - your blog background. Would you like her to put the little Golden puppy with the rose back or maybe something else? All you have to do is ask...she'd be happy to help!
